At Tohi Psychiatry, you are more than a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. You are a whole person with unique experiences, strengths, values, and goals. We provide compassionate, personalized mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults throughout the Chicagoland area, including Downers Grove, Lemont, Mokena, and surrounding communities.
Tohi Psychiatry is led by a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, Stephanie Kutella, APRN, PMHNP-BC. Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Resurrection University in Chicago and her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She later completed her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner education at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Her extensive nursing background, dedication to education, and genuine commitment to understanding each person’s story shape the thoughtful care offered at Tohi Psychiatry.
The Tohi experience begins with creating a calm, welcoming space where you feel comfortable sharing openly, asking questions, and taking things one step at a time. We believe meaningful mental health care is built on compassion, trust, and a strong therapeutic relationship. You will be actively involved in your care, and treatment decisions will be made collaboratively with your needs, preferences, and long-term well-being in mind.
Our whole-person approach looks beyond symptoms to consider the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of your well-being. Along with evidence-based psychiatric care, treatment may incorporate mindfulness, healthy lifestyle changes, meditation, yoga, creative expression, and other complementary practices when they align with your interests and treatment goals.
We provide comprehensive care for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related conditions, and other mental health concerns. Depending on your individual needs, care may include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, patient education, and ongoing support. Both in-person and telehealth appointments are available.
At Tohi Psychiatry, our goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help you better understand yourself, reconnect with your strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change. Wherever you are on your journey, you do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out. We are here to meet you with compassion and support you as you move forward, one step at a time.
